I just ran into your Commodore PET 2001 troubleshooting guide, which is very fortunate, as I just had a Commodore PET 2001 delivered today.
I was made aware that the system blows out the FUSE whenever turned on.
So, I was trying to get a pic, that shows the three diods and the direction, they are supposed to be pointing.
I will probably remove power from the MB and see if the same problem persist.
I will probably take the MB out and take a look at the back side, and make sure that it is cleaned up before I try to apply power to it.
I do have a tynemouth device, that will help me resolve any other issues that this system might have.
Anyway, I will look forward to looking over your site, for all the troubleshooting tips, that you have on here.
Thank you
If it blows the fuse, first disconnect the motherboard power connector and see if that fixes it. If it does, the most likely problem is shorted 7405 voltage regulators or diodes. If not, disconnect the brown wires for the monitor from the power transformer and see if that fixes it. If so the problem is in the monitor. If it still blows with the motherboard and monitor disconnected, the problem is with the power transformer.
